It's not often that you run across caring people who are genuine in what they do to help others. Today, I got to meet Leslie Rhodes, and this incredible woman is an asset to the Lubbock community.

Her friend Cassie wrote the following letter to United Supermarkets about her incredibly kind and generous friend:

Leslie is a part of several community-based organizations that help people who can't necessarily help themselves (examples: Dream Center, Malta Farms). She is single, no children, but she loves to help others in whatever way she can. She puts aside her needs daily. After her sister passed away, she even put her business aside to help assist her brother in law in taking care of his 3 daughters. She did this for almost 2 years. Leslie would gladly offer you the shirt she was wearing if she knew you needed it. This past Christmas, she helped organize a Christmas party for over 30 elderly people with no family. She never met them. She only heard that one of the men said he didn't know why they celebrated Christmas, no one loves them. She wanted them to know God loves them and so do we! I have learned so much from her in just one year. I believe she deserves to be shown love as much as she shows others daily.

I was glad to be a part of meeting this incredible woman. And for her incredible generosity to the community, United Supermarkets and Market Street presented Leslie with a beautiful floral arrangement and a gift card. Plus, we here at 102.5 Kiss FM and Townsquare Media Lubbock gave her a family 4-pack of tickets to go see the Texas Tech Men’s Basketball team take on Iowa!

Way to go, Leslie -- it's nice to see that there are still plenty of kind-hearted people in the world!
