Lubbock's popular Texas Tech retailer Red Raider Outfitter issued a powerful statement on why they're bucking the trend and not producing a t-shirt ahead of Friday's Texas Tech-Baylor game.

The retailer pointed to "Baylor's mismanagement" and "shockingly poor handling" of reported sexual assaults which made national headlines in May. The scandal led to the ousting of head coach Art Briles, but continues to haunt the school. In October, it was revealed that Briles heard about an alleged gang rape, but failed to alert the proper authorities.

Red Raider Outfitter explained their decision on Facebook as both a moral stance and to honor the requests of Texas Tech fans:

"Red Raider Outfitter stands for honesty, integrity, and compassion. In no way, can we support the shockingly poor handling of the sexual assaults at Baylor," reads the statement. "Red Raider Outfitter stands with the victims and with those who are outraged by Baylor's mismanagement. You, the fans, have spoken and requested that we not allow the Double T to be printed alongside any Baylor logo."
