A Winter Storm Warning will go into effect beginning Tuesday, Feb. 4th at noon and will continue until 6 p.m. on Wednesday, February 5th.

A cold front will continue to surge southward through the Southern Plains, dropping temperatures behind the frontal boundary to become quite uncomfortable with the addition of moisture which will increase the chance for snowfall.

Overnight temperatures will fall well below freezing. Pets, people, plants and pipes should be properly prepared for frigid conditions to last through Wednesday.

Roads will become hazardous in areas in which snow accumulation occurs. Drivers are strongly discouraged from any unnecessary travel during this winter event. Motorists that will be required to travel on area roadways are encouraged to drive to conditions. Slow down, leave plenty of space between vehicles and move over if vehicles are parked on the shoulder or side of the road.
