Lubbock Respiratory Care Practitioner Arrested; License Suspended
The Texas Board of Respiratory Care has decided to temporarily suspend the permit of a Lubbock respiratory care practitioner.
The disciplinary panel came to the decision on Thursday, December 16th.
The practitioner in question, Robert Lee Lopez, Jr., was arrested for possession of a controlled substance after being involved in an incident "involving the theft of fentanyl." Lopez remains booked in the Lubbock County Detention Center.
The disciplinary panel determined that Lopez's continuation in the practice of respiratory care "poses a continuing threat to public welfare."
This suspension will remain in place until the Board takes any further action. A temporary suspension hearing with notice will be held as soon as practicable with 10 days' notice to Lopez.
