Lieutenant Kurt Kitten of Lubbock Fire Rescue passed away suddenly at his home Thursday morning. He was 48 years old.

Kitten joined the department back on August 30th, 1999, and has been serving the citizens of Lubbock ever since.

The Lubbock Fire Department posted about Kitten's passing on their Facebook page and expressed their condolences to his family. "You will be greatly missed by your LFR family. Rest in Peace Brother Kitten," the post read in part. You can see the full Facebook post below.
