On Tuesday, January 11th, Lubbock Police responded to the Breakfast House at 7006 University Avenue for reports of a shooting.

The call came in just after noon. When officers arrived at the scene, they confirmed that one person had suffered serious injuries. However, police later said that this person had been pronounced dead. The victim's identity remains unknown.

KAMC News reports that officers placed crime scene tape in the parking lot behind the Breakfast House.

At 2 p.m. the same day, a lieutenant with the Lubbock Police Department said that they had still not detained a suspect. It's unknown whether or not a specific suspect was even identified.

Lubbock police said that the shooting happened in the parking lot of the Breakfast House and that it didn't involve anybody that was inside the restaurant.

Police did confirm that this incident was not related to a shooting that happened only an hour later in the 3400 block of 86th Street. One person was said to have suffered serious injuries from that shooting.
