In a move that broke plenty of Texas Tech fans' hearts, standout receiver Keke Coutee announced he won't be returning for a fourth year with Texas Tech football.

Coutee posted the announcement on his Instagram page on Christmas Eve.

"With so much thought and prayer through this difficult process, I have decided to enter the 2018 NFL Draft," Coutee wrote. "This was such a difficult decision I had to make for me and my family. Thank you all for an amazing 3 years at the best University there is. Lubbock will always have a special place in my heart and I will always call Lubbock home. #GUNSUPFOREVER!!"

In a press release from Texas Tech Athletics, head coach Kliff Kingsbury praised Coutee as one of the country's best receivers.

"We wish Keke nothing but the best as he moves on to the NFL," said head coach Kliff Kingsbury. "Keke was one of the best receivers in the country this season, and I know he has a bright future ahead of him. Our staff and I can’t thank Keke and his family enough for his commitment to our football program the past three years."

Coutee's decision is certainly a major loss for Texas Tech football. At the Birmingham Bowl, he passed Jace Amaro, Jakeem Grant, Filani, Lloyd Hill and Danny Amendola for the team's single-season chart for receiving yards according to the school. Coutee notched 93 receptions during the 2017 season, placing him at seventh in the school's history.

For those wanting to follow Coutee's journey, they can tune into ESPN or The NFL Network on April 26-28 to watch NFL Draft coverage.
