A juvenile was arrested and charged with three felonies after allegedly bringing a gun into the South Plains Fair.

On Thursday, September 23rd, a Lubbock police officer at the South Plains Fair noticed a young male walking with a gun-like object in his pocket. The officer approached him and confirmed his suspicions.

EverythingLubbock reports the juvenile began resisting, and an off-duty officer assisted in restraining the juvenile until authorities arrived. Once the gun was taken, the juvenile became more combative, spitting at officers and at vehicles.

The juvenile was charged with unlawful carrying of a weapon, harassment of a public servant, and carrying a gun at a place where weapons are prohibited. He was also charged with a misdemeanor for resisting.

The juvenile was taken and booked into the Lubbock County Juvenile Justice Center.
