
Levelland Man Dies in Car Accident
Thirty-year-old Joshua Salazar died after the car he was driving crashed into a utility pole Saturday morning (June 27) in Levelland.
According to the Texas DPS, Salazar and his girlfriend Rachel Cruz were travelling down Cactus Drive in Levelland at a high rate of speed before colliding into the pole.
Following the accident, Salazar was pronounced dead, while Cruz was transported to Covenant Medical Center.
"My brother was our rock, I will miss him greatly," said Salazar's sister, Jessica Carmona [quote via Everything Lubbock]. "It's a tragedy that a lot of people like his daughter will never get to know how special he was."
Salazar's family has created a GoFundMe page to raise money for his funeral. At press time, the fund had raised over $1,000.
Salazar is survived by a daughter.
