There's nothing I love more than walking around the South Plains Fair with a turkey leg before testing the limits of my stomach on a fun carnival ride. I'll be out there live for opening day on Thursday, September 23rd, 2021, from 5 until 7 p.m., and I would really like to meet you.

If you're a listener or a reader of mine, it would be fantastic to hang out with you for a couple of hours and enjoy the evening at the fair. I haven't been in several years and I'm stoked to go. I'll be wandering around, recording live bits for the radio, and I'll have some swag on me for anyone that can show me they have our station's app downloaded. Super simple, totally free, and definitely worth it.

And while I'm here, a story from a day at the fair when I was a teenager:

I went to the fair with my first boyfriend, who claimed to be a vegan. I didn't care if he was vegan or not, but he swore to goodness that he was. We got on a ride that took you upside down in a tiny little cage together. That's when I learned he was not, in fact, a vegan. He puked pepperoni pizza all over me as the cage continued to spin.

It was probably the most disgusting thing that's ever happened to me, but it cracks me up to think about it now. It certainly hasn't scared me away from pizza or rides.

So if you're getting on any rides with me, please don't eat pizza first.

See you there!
