UTEP men’s basketball continued its aggressive roster rebuild for the 2026-27 season with a wave of commitments and signings.

The Miners added immediate impact through multiple transfers, including a versatile sophomore point guard that committed this weekend. The moves, spotlighted in recent posts on social media, position UTEP for its transition into the Mountain West Conference under head coach Joe Golding. All signings were as a result of more resources through NIL efforts, which have surpassed $2 million for the men's basketball program, sources told 600 ESPN El Paso.

Leif Möller - Guard (Evansville)

The 6-foot-7 sophomore guard/forward transfer from Evansville, committed over the weekend as the program’s long-awaited point guard addition. The German product started all 32 games as a freshman in 2025-26, averaging 10.8 points, 4.0 assists, 3.8 rebounds and a steal per game while ranking second in the Missouri Valley Conference in assists. He did this while shooting 37% from three-point range and 40% from the perimeter in conference play. His highlight reel showcases explosive drives to the rim, sharp passing in transition and the ability to score at all three levels, with multiple 18-point outbursts and stretches at 55% from beyond the arc.

Ryan Jackson Jr. - Guard (William & Mary) 

A guard transfer from William & Mary, was officially welcomed Monday. The 6-foot-6 wing averaged 7.0 points per game on a team-record 67.9% field-goal shooting (third in school single-season history) while adding 3.0 rebounds, 25 assists, 26 steals and 13 blocks in 31 games off the bench. He helped the Tribe to its first 20-win season in six years. His reel features elite efficiency around the rim, highlight-reel dunks, and perimeter spacing with 52.4% three-point shooting in limited attempts.

Augusto Cassiá - Forward (Ole Miss)

A 6-foot-8 forward transfer with experience from Ole Miss (SEC) and Butler (Big East). He shot 45.7% from the field and 81.1% from the free-throw line over the past two seasons, with prior training at two NBA Global Academies and professional experience with Corinthians in Brazil. Though he had limited playing time at Ole Miss, he possesses explosiveness, maturity in his mid-20s, finishes through contact and the ability to score from the post and perimeter.

Reese Miller - Guard (William & Mary)

He's a transfer from William & Mary, who led the Tribe in scoring at 12.1 points per game last season. He helped William & Mary to its first 20-win season in six years while shooting 45.3% from the field with 19 double-digit scoring games and 2.4 assists per game. His footage, even from two seasons ago, shows consistency in shooting threes, quick-release pull-ups, soft touch around the rim and positive plays in transition.

Reid Cason - Forward (East Carolina)

Here's a 6-foot-10 post, who is a transfer from East Carolina. He shot 56.1% from the floor in the 2025-26 season, blocked 30 shots during the entire season and averaged 3.9 points and 3.3 rebounds in 15.3 minutes per game. His video highlights show that Cason can be a primary rim protector for UTEP at the 5 this year, who can also dunk and score efficiently inside the post.

Camron McDaniels - Guard (John A. Logan College)

McDaniels is a 6-foot-5 junior college transfer and a second-team NJCAA All-American selection from John A. Logan College. He averaged 17.4 points and 5.1 rebounds while shooting 42.9% from the field (including 35.6% from three) and 76.0% from the free-throw line, helping his team to a league title and Region 24 co-championship with 10 games of 20-plus points. His highlights flex solid two-way play, high-level finishing at the rim, fast in transition and the potential to score in flurries.

Delano Tarpley - Center 

Tarpley is a 6-foot-11 center and three-star prospect who competed in the state championship. His playoff reels showcase dunks, rim-running and presence in the paint during Brennan’s deep playoff run.

He's a 6-foot-5 guard that was named the San Antonio Express-News Player of the Year. His highlights feature perimeter scoring, fast-break finishes, defensive steals and versatility as a three-level threat.

Isaiah Ward - Wing

Ward is a 6-foot-6 wing and three-star prospect who helped Brennan reach the state title game. The four-year letterwinner earned TABC All-State and All-Region honors while averaging 12.0 points per game on 57.8% field-goal shooting, along with 6.0 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.1 steals. Ward is raw, but has a ton of athleticism and room to grow.
