When the news broke that Fred Loya would be pulling the plug on his Lights on the Lake partnership with El Paso County many people wondered, Will the holiday light show return to his east el paso home? And the question has since been answered!

Hold onto your holiday hats, El Paso!

When I posted the article about the partnership ending I was surprised to see a message from Project Manager, Scott Brown, who said that soon the news would be announced that the beloved holiday light show will in fact be returning to the Loya’s east El Paso home after a two-year stint at Ascarate Park.

The show is for sure moving back to the house. Fred Loya Sr is really excited for the show to return to the house. And is still heavily involved in the design and execution.”

Brown and his team have been busy preparing for the big event. It takes over a month to set up, and this year, they’re aiming to outshine their previous efforts with a whopping 800,000 light fixtures scattered throughout the property. Yes, you read that right—800,000 lights! Talk about a holiday glow-up.

Since 2006, Brown has been working on this festive project, and he emphasizes that it’s all about spreading joy and giving back to the community. “It’s always been about the kids and the people of El Paso,” Brown shares. “It’s never been branded as Fred Loya’s show, even though everyone knows it’s his house.”
