(KTDY) - We've all seen dead deer or two on the side of the highway in Louisiana, but have you ever seen one rise up after you thought it was dead?
Welll, if you have seen a "dead" deer rise up after you thought it was dead, you aren't the only one, because a deputy in Texas got the shock of his life while standing over a deer that he thought was deceased.
The deputy responded to a deer on the side of a highway, and upon arrival, he found the animal that he thought was dead.
After standing over the deer for a few seconds and flashing his light over it, the deer suddenly rose from the dead, and that is when the deputy screamed.
The shocking moment was caught on the camera mounted in the unit, and I am glad we have footage not only of the deer rising back up, but also of the deputy screaming and jumping back.
The deer, which must have been hit by a passing vehicle, rises and wobbles, but then goes on its way.
According to the deputy, the deer appeared stunned, but it made its way back into the woods and appeared to be fine. I just don't know how the deputy told his colleagues about this incident, but luckily he had video evidence to prove that a deer "came back to life."

Those who work as a police officer, firefighter, or EMT will tell you that there are calls that they'll never forget, and I have a feeling that this deputy will never forget the time that he stood over a deer that he thought was dead, and it rose up to return to the woods.
I highly encourage you to turn up the sound for this one, and you may want to share this story with someone you know who hunts. This could be a good reminder to always observe your trophy before approaching.
