Mother-Son Duo Arrested For Massage Parlor Services in Texas
A mother and son duo were arrested after being accused of offering illicit commercial sex at their businesses in Texas and New Mexico. On March 21st 41-year-old Xu Wang and 64-year-old Shaoping Wen were arrested in New Mexico after a multi-agency investigation by the FBI, Homeland Security, Lubbock County Sheriff's Office and Clovis, Roswell, Wolfforth, and Lubbock Police Departments was made.
KAMC news reports that a criminal complaint was issued in regards towards Wen owning and operating at least seven massage parlors. Wen was occasionally seen picking up various Asian women from the airport and driving them to her parlors. Reports state that Asian women were engaging in commercial sex acts at the parlors where police went undercover more than 10 time's between June 2023 and February 2024.
While undercover police reported they were met by women in lingerie that had to use translator apps to communicate and offered to have sex for $140 to $200. During the investigation police officers made multiple arrests of the female laborers who were prostituting themselves at the parlors but noticed that Wen and her son Wang were posting the bonds. Wen also looked after multiple parlors when is mother, Wang, was not able to or had to tend to another parlor.
Neighboring businesses also reported that they noticed the women when they would be dropped off from the airport but never saw them leave the parlors. After police searched the parlors they found multiple beds on the floors which further added to the speculation that they were living inside the parlor. The women also claimed to be Chinese citizens and were just in the U.S. to work as laborers.
Wen and Wangs parlors were discovered on multiple sites online advertising sex and various "experiences" that they offered to clients. Wen and Wang appeared in a Las Cruces courtroom and will be in a Lubbock federal court for Conspiracy to Use Interstate Travel in Aid of Racketeering Enterprises.
