Uncorked: Say Hello To The Texas High Plains Wine Trail
It's time to discover the Texas High Plains Wine Trail.
When it comes to Texas wine, one may or may not know that the Lubbock area is key to the industry in Texas. If you have ever traveled to the Texas Hill Country, and in particular, Fredericksburg, you have probably heard of the Texas Wine Trail. I've been on the wine trail several times and it's always an enjoyable experience. One would think that with all the wineries in the Hill Country that they get their grapes from there, but that isn't always the case. In fact, the Texas High Plains is the real wine country of Texas.
According to Visit Lubbock, more than 85% of Texas wine grapes are grown and produced in the Lubbock and High Plains region. And now, there is a new way to experience Texas Wine Country. And that is with the all new Texas High Plains Wine Trail that has been launched by Visit Lubbock.
The Texas High Plains Wine Trail is a "curated collection of local wineries and wine festivals offering participants the opportunity to explore, experience and celebrate Lubbock's award-winning wineries."
And that's not all, according to a press release from Visit Lubbock, those who visit the Visit Lubbock website can get a mobile pass that will serve as a guide for the trail You can even will prizes and get discounts.
Visitors to participating wineries will present a code to the cashier to earn points toward prizes and discounts. Those who visit four participating locations, earning 400 points, can redeem a one-time commemorative Texas High Plains wine and Visit Lubbock wine cork and cheese board. Each stop along the trails earns participants 100 points. For 300 points, participants can redeem 50% off one general admission ticket to Lubbock Uncorked.
