The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is asking for input from bicyclists about a new plan connecting lanes and paths all across Lubbock County. If you are an avid bike rider, then now's your chance to make your voice heard!

Lubbock's Brand New Bicycle Plan

The proposed bicycle survey doesn't just impact Lubbock County, it spans Bailey, Yoakum, Floyd, Garza, and everywhere in between.

The purpose is to make riding a bicycle on state roads both easier and safer for citizens. In order to do this, TxDOT is inviting the public to provide feedback after reviewing the interactive maps of proposed changes.

Viewers are then encouraged to complete a brief survey covering the main topics of bikeway functions, bicycle tourism trail refinements, and corridor prioritization.

How to Fill Out the Survey

The survey will be open only until November 6, 2026. Also, the survey is only available online through this link.

This way, you can view the interactive maps and, using your knowledge of the local areas, can provide comments and suggestions to TxDOT as to whether what they propose is a good idea or not.

Finally, if you have any other questions about the bike plans or you want more information before filling out the survey, you can contact TxDOT at LBB_projects@txdot.gov or by calling (806) 748-4450.
