
Texas Tech Football Continues To Move Higher In the College Football Rankings
It was another big win for Texas Tech Football over the weekend when the Red Raiders defeated the Kansas Jayhawks 42-17. The win propels Texas Tech to a higher ranking on the young season as they remain undefeated.
Texas Tech Wins Big During Homecoming Against Kansas
Texas Tech took down Kansas 42-17, but the Jayhawks made the game close in the 2nd Quarter and after halftime. Starting quarterback Behren Morton left the game in the 2nd quarter and did not return. The Red Raider offense began to stall which led to 17 unanswered points from the Jayhawks. But the Tech defense did't allow any other points.
Texas Tech Climbs Higher in the Rankings
Texas Tech is now ranked #7 in the AP Top 25 Poll. According to Texas Tech Athletics, this is the highest Tech has been ranked since 2018.
This is the highest the Red Raiders have appeared in either poll since Nov. 23, 2008, when Texas Tech dropped to No. 7 in the AP rankings after losing its first game of the season at Oklahoma the previous day. The Red Raiders were previously No. 2 in both polls for three-consecutive weeks after defeating top-ranked Texas and No. 8 Oklahoma State in back-to-back games at home.
#7 Texas Tech will face Arizona State on Saturday in Tempe, Arizona at 3:00 p.m.
