Take A Look At The New Pickleball Facility Coming To Lubbock

One of the fasting growing sports in America is also growing in popularity here in Lubbock. Pickleball is still spreading like wildfire throughout the United States. The game is loved by both young and old and pickleball courts have overtaken other courts like tennis and even basketball in some cities.

On January 9th a new pickleball facility was approved in Lubbock by the City Council. The new facility will be built at McAlister Park.

According to Facebook post by the Lubbock Parks and Recreation Department, the new pickleball facility will feature 12 lighted pickleball courts, covered seating, and restrooms. There will also be a lawn area which will be turned into a championship court in the future.

Construction is expected to begin soon with the opening expected to be in the late spring or early summer.
