San Antonio Spurs Head Coach Gregg Popovich will be "out indefinitely" for the next few games, according to Shams Charania from ESPN.

"Pops" Health Scare

Fans took notice of the coach's disappearance during Saturday's matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

San Antonio Spurs Asst. Coach Mitch Johnson was informed just hours before the game began that he would be filling in that game in Popovich's stead.

Johnson urges fans to not worry too much, saying that the coach is just not feeling well.

Popovich has a natural risk of health emergencies as he celebrated his 75th birthday this year. Johnson will be filling in for him for the next two games tonight and Wednesday, at least.

ESPN includes that Gregg Popovich has been with the Spurs for 29 seasons. He also lead the team to 1,390 wins and 170 postseason victories. Popovich is responsible for five NBA titles as well.

Before his NBA career, Gregg Popovich attended the U.S. Air Force Academy where he earned a degree in Soviet studies. He was invited to the 1972 U.S. Olympic Basketball Team trials after serving five years of active duty with the U.S. Air Force.

San Antonio Spurs Schedule and Stats

The Spurs are set to face the LA Clippers tonight, then the Houston Rockets on Wednesday, all with a guaranteed absence from their head coach.

Popovich lead the team, this season, to number eight in the Western Conference at three and three so far. The team also aims to extend their two-game win streak heading into tonight's match against Houston.
