As of this morning, the NWS expects storms to begin sometime after 3pm. A large area including Abilene, San Angelo, Sweetwater, and Sterling City are included in the "Enhanced Risk" zone. There is a risk of heavy thunderstorms, very large hail, and more tornados.
And In the Amarillo area, the National Weather Service is warning of scattered thunderstorms Friday night into Saturday with the main threats being strong winds and large hail. Isolated storms could pop up late this afternoon.
These storms could also lead to flash flooding and dangerous road conditions.
