Unless you've been living under a rock, you know that porch pirates are a real problem. They will sometimes follow Amazon and other delivery trucks just so they can steal whatever the delivery driver leaves behind.

Other porch pirates drive around neighborhoods and quickly walk up to where packages have been left, take them, and quickly walk away. Again, it's normally a quick crime that is barely caught on camera if there is a camera.

But according to one Lubbock citizen who took to the Nextdoor app, a porch pirate that hit her home, took their time and browsed through the box that was delivered.

Of course the thief would leave behind a product that you use to put in a little work at your home. At least they want to smell good though?

One does have to wonder if this is going to be a new trend now where porch pirates open the packages on your porch and only take what they want. With more and more people leaving glitter bombs and prank boxes behind to catch or have revenge on the pirates, maybe the thieves have decided it's better to stand there and browse rather than take the whole box and take their chances.

And I have seen other news stories of selective porch pirates in other places. It's not that they are getting smarter, just changing techniques. That is until Christmas season rolls around. That's when the porch pirates will steal anything and everything from your porch.
