Flashing Pumpkins

Halloween has come and gone so hopefully man trick or treaters wore reflective gear of something that lights up but the trend now is for some police officers to shine bright. Recently cops in Austin have been seen wearing light up shoes and I personally think these should make their way to Lubbock so they can light up the streets. One thing that's always lighting up the streets are pumpkins but with Halloween over it seems that there's just an abundance of jack-o-lanterns rotting away. One Lubbock organization actually wants your old pumpkins this year so they can go to a good cause and continue on with the circle of nature.

Critters Everywhere

If you don't have a pumpkin this year because some thing ate it then you might have had an encounter with a wild critter but one of those creatures made an appearance at a football game. The viral, and lucky, opossum ran onto the field at the Texas Tech versus TCU game before the Red Raiders were able to secure the win. There is no telling if the creature was some lucky mystical thing but one animal of legend is actually in season right now. Snipes are actually a real thing and not a thing to make your kids look for while you laugh at their efforts. These cute birds have gotten a rather weird reputation with the famous snipe hunts but aren't that scary, unless you are scared of birds.
