Guess what? Rain in Lubbock, TX!

Well, most likely. In fact, KAMC's Ron Roberts forecasts an 80% chance of precipitation with thunderstorms likely as we head into the weekend, and nearly an inch of rain heading south of Lubbock towards Garza and Borden Counties.

That's almost enough rain for everyone to catch one to two drops on their tongue! Wow! Or just to have the world's saddest water balloon fight.

As a Wisconsin boy, I absolutely adore the colder weather, so the highs for this weekend sitting beautifully at around 53 for Saturday and upper 50's for Sunday really just scratch my itch for Midwest ambience.

But fret not! Cold rain is not the only forecast heading our way this weekend, as Monday shoots right back to about 77 for a high with the sun warming our chilly bones all day.

Temperatures will stay roughly the same across the South Plains with lows creeping to to upper 30's near Plainview and Friona tomorrow and Sunday.

Other Weather Highlights to Know This Weekend

No severe weather is expected to grace our slice of Heaven this weekend.

Tomorrow: High in the upper 50's, low of about 46. Thunderstorms likely with wind coming out of the east-northeast at 15 to 25 mph. Enjoy a 7:10 AM sunrise, then get the bug spray when it sets at 8:23 PM.

Sunday: Some showers likely with a much lower chance of precipitation, but even cooler in the evening with the lows reaching to 40. Aspermont and Friona will hog the warmer weather with highs in the lower 60's, but we won't hold that against them.
