Originally established as the Lubbock Municipal Airfield in 1929, LBB has steadily progressed in the realm of aviation.

With the current terminal building's inauguration in 1976 and subsequent expansion in 1986, the airport has grown to become a pivotal transportation center. LBB proudly hosts esteemed airline partners including American, Southwest, and United Airlines.
