A Lubbock staple is expanding into a new location very soon.

Taqueria Jalisco has been in Lubbock for a long time and beloved by a lot of people. When I moved here it was one place people said I needed to go.

I love the wide range of options and services. Plus everything is always at a great price.

I always get the Fajitas Mexico. It is really good and they give you a lot of meat. I always have leftovers. They also have good mini tacos, the Al Pastor was our favorite.

Plus they have a full bar and great margaritas.

Taqueria means a food stall, food cart, or restaurant that specializes in tacos and other Mexican dishes. The food is typically prepared quickly and tends to be inexpensive.

The name Jalisco comes from two Nahuatl words that mean "sandy place". Jalisco is a region in central coastal Mexico known for its blue agave plants, rolling hillsides, and scenic landscapes. Jalisco-style Mexican food is different from other regional cuisines in Mexico and is characterized by a mix of fish and meat dishes.

Now this Lubbock spot is expanding to a different part of town. The new location will be opening at  7517 82nd Street, Lubbock, TX.

There is no set date or time on when the new location will open. They have just gotten started so it may be a little while until it opens.

Their first location is at 2211 Avenue Q, Lubbock, TX 79411. You can call them at (806) 763-7605.
