McCoy’s Building Supply bought 7.5 acres of land in Lubbock, Texas this past summer and recently broke ground with a goal of opening the new store this year.
McCoy’s was founded in 1927 and maintains the “Born to Build” slogan. McCoy Jones is the fourth generation to lead the family-owned company. They actually had stores in Lubbock from 1971-1995.
Currently, the store serves several Lubbock builder customers through its Plainview, Texas location but soon they will be able to shop right in their city.
McCoy’s employs more than 3,000 people and operates 85 stores, three distribution centers, and two millwork facilities in Texas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico.
When I posted on Facebook asking about what was coming to that location, people were very excited that this store was opening.
The store will have a covered, drive-thru lumberyard and a fleet of forklifts and delivery trucks paired with the interior retail area that will offer tools, paint, household essentials, and more. It will also have high-quality building materials and farm and ranch products for a wide range of projects, available in-store and online with ship-to-store and delivery options.
