Do You Remember Lubbock’s Steak And Ale? The Iconic Restaurant Is Returning

Back around 15 years ago there used to be a Steak and Ale right here in Lubbock, Texas and people loved it.

The new owner of the restaurant, Paul Mangiamele sat down with The Dallas Morning News to spill all the tea.

If you don't know this restaurant used to be an American chain that offered casual dining that first opened its doors in 1966. It closed back in 2008 after it went bankrupt. Now 15 years later is it making a comeback.

Paul Mangiamele purchased the brand back in 2015 and is ready to bring it back to life.

It will have a red, white and black color scheme as you see below, and is set to open its first location in the Dallas-Forth Worth area off of Interstate 30 in Grand Prairie in 2024.

Legendary Restaurant Brands

They will bring back popular things from their original restaurant like the salad bar and The Kensington Club. They will also bring their popular soups back like the French onion, lobster bisque, and beef barley. The original locations had smoking sections but that will not be a thing when the new ones open up.

The Dallas Morning News also says the Hawaiian chicken and prime rib will be back on the menu just like it once was.

Now, what does this mean for Lubbock and other cities? The Dallas Morning news got the answers.

“We’re going to grow as the opportunities present themselves,” Mangiamele says, choosing not to pick a number. We’re going to build deliberately. We’re going to build slowly. ... You’ve got to have a team of eagles, not turkeys.”
