This Lubbock Restaurant Has Comically Large Portions
My Favorite Kind of “Problem”
I like to eat. Let’s just get that out there. One look at me and you’ll figure it out pretty quick. And when it comes to food I can really binge on, Asian food is right at the top of the list. Chinese, Japanese, Thai—you name it, I’ll eat it. But recently, I found a place here in Lubbock that really knocked me out--like, literally: Crush Teriyaki & Wok!

These guys don’t play around when it comes to portions. I’m talking stuffed to the brim, can’t-close-the-lid, “I-need-two-containers” kind of portions. From the very first time I walked through their doors, I was hooked.
My Go-To Order
I’ve been back several times now, and I’ll be honest—I don’t even try to mix it up. I get the exact same thing every single time:
The Three Entrée Box with Beef & Broccoli, General Tso’s Chicken, and Jalapeño Chicken
An order of egg rolls (because, duh)
Rice and noodles—because why choose when you can have both?
That last part is key. You HAVE to get both the noodles and the rice. And the best part? They load you up with a mountain of each, at no extra charge. The noodles, by the way, are the good kind—the ones that taste like they came straight out of a real wok.
A Portion So Big It Needs Backup
Here’s how crazy the servings are: one time, my General Tso’s wouldn’t even fit in the first container. They had to bring out a second one, and it was filled to the top too. I’m not exaggerating when I say you’ll probably eat half your meal and have enough left over for lunch the next day—and maybe even dinner.

And the egg rolls? Crispy, golden, and packed with flavor. None of that soggy nonsense you sometimes get elsewhere.
My Only Complaint
If I’m being picky, I do wish they had a stronger hot mustard. Don’t get me wrong—the mustard they have isn’t bad, I just like mine with more of a kick. I go through hot mustard the way some people go through ranch dressing, so maybe that’s just me.
But honestly, the friendly staff more than makes up for it. Every time I’ve gone in, they’ve been smiling, helpful, and just plain nice. That makes a difference.
The Bottom Line
If you love Asian food and you love not having to cook the next day because you’ve got leftovers waiting in the fridge, Crush Teriyaki & Wok is your new best friend. Just be prepared—these portions are no joke.
