Good News For Mavericks Fans All Across Texas!

Football season has officially kicked off and while everyone is going to be focused on the pigskin, the NBA season will be starting up again in a few months.

The Dallas Mavericks are the reigning Western Conference Champs and while they fell short in the NBA Finals last season, they are primed to return for another run next season and they recently made an exciting announcement that fans are already applauding.

The Dallas Mavericks announced a new multi-year broadcast rights agreement to broadcast select games on free-over-the-air TV stations.

According to press release on the Mavericks website, the team signed an agreement with TEGNA to bring all Mavericks games not exclusively televised nationally to approximately 10 million people in Texas, for free over-the-air, nearly tripling the current number of households the Mavericks can reach across the state.

Starting with the Mavs vs. Suns game on Oct. 26, TEGNA stations will broadcast 70 or more games in the first season for FREE over-the-air, with 15 or more games simulcast on

In a world where sports is moving to "for pay" streaming services, one of the reasons the NFL is successful in my opinion, is that the NFL never stopped putting its best games on FREE OVER THE AIR LOCAL TV stations while still offering games for folks who are willing to pay.

With the Mavs recent success, the timing of this couldn't be better.
