Tennessee Changing Iconic Checkerboard Pattern Before Texas Game
Just a heads up to any fans attending the game in Knoxville on Saturday. Looks like the section colors have switched up for the big game.
College football has some amazing traditions and one that I think is a little underrated is the University of Tennessee checkerboard. The end zone goes from orange to white and then the fans in the stands keep the pattern going throughout the stadium.
Example of Tennessee Checkerboard on Gameday Below

It always makes for a great blimp shot of the stadium. Well fans of the Volunteers have gotten used to their sections being orange or white. The school has not changed the sections since 2019, according to reports. However when The University of Texas at Austin is coming into town on Saturday, the pattern has changed in sections throughout the stadium.
Why Would Tennessee Change the Section Colors?

With orange being the primary color between the two teams. Many are speculating that it will look like a home game for the Longhorns with not a lot of white in the stands. According to the Knoxville News, The University of Tennessee made the change because fans were asking for it.
President Trump to Be In Attendance on Saturday

Not only is it bragging rights to see who the better UT is. College Gameday will be live in Knoxville on Saturday and President Trump is supposed to make an appearance as well. For any Longhorns fans making the trip, I would except some extra security around the stadium with The President in attendance. If you're going to the game and want to see if you're in an orange or white section. Check out the stadium website.
