Remember just a couple of weeks ago when we put up the post about where to trick-or-treat in Nacogdoches and Lufkin? Well, in Nacogdoches, according to the locals, the top places were Spring Creek Subdivision, Waterford Park, and the area near the high school around Kenbrook Drive and that vicinity. However, another event has surfaced that you might want to check out if you're looking for places to take your kids trick-or-treating.

Trunk or Treat with First Responders is October 29th

There will be a special trunk or treat event taking place on October 29th starting at 5:00 PM out at the SFA Commuter Lot. But this isn't just a trunk-or-treat. There's an entire Facebook event page for it - 5th Annual Trunk or Treat with First Responders. It's hosted by the Nacogdoches Law Enforcement Foundation and the UTS Police Department at SFA.

Like I said, there's a lot more than just a trunk or treat with candy. According to the Facebook event, they'll have not only candy and popcorn, but there will be prizes, touch-a-truck, and - something I think is the coolest part of the event - the opportunity to hang out with first responders, the people keeping Nacogdoches safe.

Another thing you might want to take advantage of is that there will be a soft opening/sensory friendly hour that will start at 4:00 PM, before the main event kicks off at 5:00 PM.

How to Get Involved with Trunk or Treat with First Responders

Obviously, this event will require a lot - A LOT - of candy. If you want to help out with that, you can drop off candy donations at the SFA Police Department. You can also make money contributions to help out by calling the Nacogdoches Law Enforcement Foundation at (936) 205-1723, or shooting them an email at info@naclef.org.

Stephen F. Austin State University Lego Set Ideas

The folks at Lego are always coming out with new set ideas, and they aren't just for kids anymore. As a fan of Legos, I started wondering what things from around the SFA campus would make for cool Lego sets. These were some of the SFA-themed sets that I came up with.
