SFA Gardens Announces Official Date for 2026 Fall Plant Sale

If you've been in Deep East Texas for any amount of time, there's a good chance that you've heard of the SFA Gardens Plant Sales. They come around twice a year, and the crowds they draw are huge - all to buy plants! Well, the announcement was just made for the fall plant sale.

SFA Gardens Fall Plant Sale Will Take Place Saturday, October 10th

The SFA Gardens Fall Festival Plant Sale will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2026. Usually, the fall plant sale is held on the first Saturday of October every year, but due to SFA having a home football game on that day this year, the plant sale will take place on the second Saturday of October.

As usual, the sale will be held at the Pineywoods Native Plant Center, located at 2900 Raguet Street in Nacogdoches. It all starts at 9:00 AM - but if you want to make sure that you've got a spot in line when it officially kicks off, you'll probably want to be there a bit earlier than that - and will wrap up at 2:00 that afternoon.

The proceeds from this plant sale help fund SFA Gardens staff salaries, as well as help fund the daily operations of the SFA Gardens, which includes the Pineywoods Native Plant Center, the Mast Arboretum, the Ruby M. Mize Azalea Garden and the Gayla Mize Garden.

A full list of plants that will be for sale at the Fall Plant Sale can be found at the SFA Gardens website - www.sfasu.edu/sfagardens. That plant list will continue to be updated through September 25th, so if you don't see something you're looking for immediately, you can continue checking back until that date.
