4th Annual Caddo Youth Hunt Returns in October

Hunting is a big deal here in Deep East Texas. My parents were taking me out to the deer lease before I could even walk. That's why it always surprises me that there are lots of people that haven't ever had that experience. They didn't get to go out hunting as a kid. However, there's a chance for kids right here in our area to get to go.

4th Annual Caddo Youth Hunt

Caddo Sustainable Timberlands and TTG Forestry Services are teaming up to put on the 4th Annual Caddo Youth Hunt. This is a chance for kids ages 10-16 to go hunting that haven't had that opportunity before.

This is a two-day experience. On Friday, October 23rd, there will be a time for target practice at 5:00 PM to get the kids familiar with the firearms that they will be using, followed by a kickoff dinner and hunter safety course.

On Saturday, October 24th starting at 6:00 AM, the kids will begin their morning hunt. They will, of course, be paired with a hunting guide that will accompany them in the stand during the hunt. After that, they will have lunch, and then at 2:00 they will begin their afternoon hunt.

They'll get some pretty cool things, as well. The hunt includes the hunting guide - that I mentioned before - access and use of gun and ammo, t-shirt, swag, and an igloo cooler (plus the processing of the deer). All in all, it's a pretty awesome setup.
