Senior year is here for lots of Deep East Texas students. And with that comes all of the senior year festivities - homecoming, prom, graduation...ALL of the things! Well, one local photographer is looking to capture those special moments on film for a deserving senior, but not because of her business. It's actually a lot deeper than that.

Alex Shaw is Looking to Capture Senior Moments in Honor of Her Late Son

Alex Shaw is the owner of Alex Shaw Photography in Nacogdoches. For those that don't know, she and her husband Justin lost their son Dane in 2013 when he was just four years old. Now, if you do the math, this would be Dane's senior year. Because of that, the Shaws are looking to do something awesome for a local senior, and you can help with the search.

According to a Facebook post that Alex wrote, they are looking for a senior guy that was born on December 2, 2008 - Dane's birthday. If selected, the senior would receive an entire sponsorship package that they're calling Dane's Wish - 2027 Senior Guy. That package includes:

  • Senior Photos (Your choice of taking them in the fall or spring)
  • Homecoming Photos
  • Prom Photos
  • $1000 scholarship to put towards the senior's future

Now, like I said, it's up to you. If you know of a guy that is graduating in the class of 2027, and was born on December 2, 2008, you can send their name and information to Alex at this email address: danestrong1208@yahoo.com. In the post, she asked to include the student's birthday and a little bit of information about them, such as plans after high school.

Like I mentioned earlier, this is a really awesome thing and a really cool way to honor their late son. If you know of a senior guy that fits the criteria, you should probably reach out to Alex Shaw about this.

A Quick Look Back at Come to the Table

Come to the Table was an event hosted by Fredonia Hill Baptist Church in November 2012. The church set up a huge tent, invited the community, and had a Thanksgiving luncheon out at Pioneer Park in Nacogdoches.
