Palo Duro Canyon Reopens Trails Ahead Of Frigid Weekend Weather
The recent winter storm brought much of the panhandle to a standstill. One week ago, some places reported snow a foot deep. Palo Duro Canyon State Park closed all of its trails. This weekend we're expecting another round of winter weather, and Palo Duro Canyon has just reopened trails for you to enjoy before it's too late.
Palo Duro Canyon State Park Reopens Limited Number Of Trails
In a park alert issued earlier today, Palo Duro Canyon State Park announced that they would be reopening a small number of trails. The trails that are reopening are:
- CCC
- Triassic
- Goodnight Peak
All of the other trails are still closed for the time being, and will only reopen once conditions improve. This would be great news if it weren't for the bad weather headed our way.
If You Want To Enjoy Some Time In The Canyon, You Might Want To Hurry
With the windchill potentially dipping below zero at times this weekend, you might want to act fast if you plan on enjoying some time down in the canyon. The whole Texas panhandle is going to be brutally cold.
It's great news to hear that some of the trails have reopened. I'm excited to hear that the trails are recovering well after the last winter storm. Hopefully, this weekend doesn't cause too many problems.
It's going to be frigid this weekend with windchill possibly falling below zero. Take care of yourself, your pets, and your loved ones this weekend. Keep your fingers crossed it doesn't take long to warm back up, and for the rest of the trails to open up.
