Texas Girl Scouts swimming in the lake at Huntsville State Park were charged by an alligator this week while visiting for an overnight trip to earn various scouting patches. These little ladies deserve a special patch for their bravery and for how quickly they were able to get out of the water during this extremely terrifying encounter.

This was no small gator. The alligator was estimated to be approximately 14 feet long, and from the looks of the video, it was in the mood for a little more than Girl Scout Cookies...

Check it out below:

The Girl Scouts fittingly named the gator "Karen" which I think is pretty awesome. Karens always seem to show up and ruin all of the fun, don't they?

These little ladies were incredibly brave, but it doesn't look like they'll be swimming in the lake again anytime soon. I don't blame them. I'm probably never going back in either. No, thanks. Eesh..

Shout out to Girl Scout Troop 114204! You guys are totally rad! I was a Girl Scout myself and the bravest thing I ever had to do was pull myself out of some mud in a rainstorm! Your quick thinking really saved the day!
