Texans Think This Food is The Most Disgusting Thing you can Eat

There are a lot of things to love in Texas, but there are also some things pretty widely hated... like some particular food items.

As Texans, we all seem to have strong opinions about certain food-related things, like Texas BBQ is the best, beans shouldn't be in chili, and we have amazing tacos. Now some people will disagree with these things, but at that point, are you even a Texan?

I'm just kidding, everyone is allowed to have preferences... even if it's wrong.

Recently, I came across a TikTok video of foods people hate in different states. And there were some VERY odd things listed for some places. But for Texas, I think it's something the majority of us would agree on.

What is it the food that Texans really hate?

I was expecting something like Mundo (I know a lot of people who love this, but I'm not one of them), rocky mountain oysters, or any dish involving less desirable proteins like intestines (no thanks). But it was none of those things.

Apparently, Texans really hate steak cooked well done. After reading this, I had to agree 100%. If you like eating a chunk of cardboard, go for it, but I'll take my steak medium rare.

Where did this information come from?

After watching this video, I did some more research to see where this TikToker got his information from because most of the things seemed super odd. For instance:

Illinois hates biting string cheese -- so not the food, just the act of biting it.
Indiana hates charcuterie
Marylands hates the corner brownie piece
Missouri hates the last bite of a hot dog

And many other bizarre things. If you want to see the full list, you can watch the above video, or see a map on the source Wide Open Country.

It turns out that Wide Open Country gathered this data from a dating app called Hater -- where people match based on things they hate. I guess that's one way to figure it out.

However the data was collected, Texas's most hated food was for sure correct, or it's at the top of the list of 'things Texans hate,' anyway.
