Books-A-Million is the latest retailer confirmed for Victoria Village on North Navarro. This is another product of the City of Victoria’s proactive retail recruitment and economic development efforts.

Books-A-Million is part of phase two of the development.

Books-A-Million will join Chicken Salad Chick and Petco in Phase Two of the development, which is currently under construction. Phase One opened earlier this year with Burlington, Five Below, and Ulta Beauty.
Upon opening, Books-A-Million will be one of two bookstores in Victoria, alongside Redbird Books, a locally owned bookstore that has been in business for more than 30 years. Now, it's time to bring back a music store with physical media formats. CDs and Vinyl are making a comeback, you know.
The recent business boom in Victoria is due to a partnership with Victoria Exchange Development. Ashley from the City of Victoria confirmed that our city is hard at work and proactively looking to bring in retail recruitment during the "What's Up Wednesday" segment on KIXS 108 and KLUB Tejano this morning.

Why retail recruitment matters

Retail recruitment is the practice of encouraging retailers and restaurants to come to Victoria and is one of the five pillars of the City’s Growing Victoria initiative. Additionally, to improve quality of life, retail recruitment brings in additional sales tax and property tax revenue, creating more funds for City services without increasing the tax burden on existing properties.
