TAPD officers received numerous complaints about the alleged sale of alcohol to minors at Club Level, located at 2502 E. 9th Street.

During the investigation, authorities discovered the club did not have the permits required by the State of Arkansas for the sale or possession of alcohol, period, to anyone. This information was given to the 8th South Drug Task Force, which includes officers from the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department and deputies from Miller and Lafayette counties.

Police said that on Saturday, June 13, an undercover officer went to the club and was able to purchase alcohol without being asked for proof of age, which is a violation of Arkansas law.

Officers then identified people inside the club who were drinking alcohol or appeared to be under the age of 21. The people who cooperated with officers and provided identification were allowed to leave.

The owner of the establishment and two bartenders were cited for the illegal sale of alcohol.

According to police, several people inside the club refused to provide identification or any other form of information. This is when the Department of Homeland Security was contacted to assist with identifying those certain people.

TAPD emphasized that the operation was not an organized immigration enforcement action. Police said the investigation stemmed from complaints about an illegal nightclub operation that was reportedly selling alcohol without the required permits and allegedly serving both adults and minors.
