Friday Night Frenzy Returns This Friday to KICKS 105
The 2026 Texas high school football season kicks off this week. Varsity teams from across Deep East Texas will take to the field on Thursday and Friday for the excitement (and extreme heat) of late-summer football in the Pineywoods. KICKS 105 will once again feature Danny Merrell each week with Friday Night Frenzy, powered by RNR Tire Express in Lufkin.
Beginning at 9 p.m., we will bring you the latest scores, plus other features highlighting athletes, students, and more across the Forest Country. Here are some of the Friday Night Frenzy features.

Every quarter hour, we'll be bringing you the latest scores from across the region. From the Class A teams like Apple Springs and Chester to schools with the largest enrollments, such as Lufkin, Nacogdoches, and Livingston.
You So Totally Rock Top Ten Teams Of The Night, Powered by Whataburger
At the end of every installment of Friday Night Frenzy, we will reveal the 10 football teams that have had the best performances of the night. It could be a hard-fought win, an upset victory, or just a lopsided beatdown. Fans of area teams can influence the final list simply by calling into the show and telling us why their team should be in the Top 10.
Student-Athlete Of The Week, Powered by Strickland Plumbing, HVAC, and Electric
Each week on the show, Danny Merrell will spotlight an excelling student-athlete from Deep East Texas. This could be a football player, cross-country runner, volleyball player, or any other student-athlete who is currently participating in a sport. Once again, fans are welcome to reach out to us and suggest potential winners.
Run DMC Top Rushers, Powered by Dedicated Medical Center and Urgent Care
During this feature, we will highlight the top rushers of the night or the previous week. Most of the time, this will be a running back or quarterback. It is sponsored by Dedicated Medical Center, which is where we get the DMC.
