Both the Houston Texans and Indianapolis Colts opened their 2011 seasons without key offensive contributors. Texans RB Arian Foster was held out of the game due to a hamstring injury and Colts QB Peyton Manning is out an undetermined length of time after neck surgery.

The Texans scored 17 points in both the first and second quarters en route to a 34-7 win over the Colts.

Texans second year running back Ben Tate (pictured) had 116 yards rushing on 24 carries and his first career touchdown. Quarterback Matt Schaub was 17/24 passing for 220 yards, 1 touchdown and 2 interceptions.

Meanwhile, the Colts started Kerry Collins at quarterback in place of the injured Peyton Manning.  Collins was rushed, rattled and beaten by the Texans defense.  He fumbled the ball 3 times; two of those fumbles were turnovers.

The Texans defense recorded 3 sacks and 3 tackles for loss. New outside linebacker Mario Williams recorded two of the three sacks.

The Colts only score came in the 4th quarter.  It was a six yard touchdown pass from Kerry Collins to Reggie Wayne.
