Estacado Beats Hereford to Open 2012 Season [PICS]

In a game you heard on News/Talk 790, KFYO, the Estacado Matadors beat the Hereford Whitefaces 34-26 at Lowrey Field at PlainsCapital Park on Thursday night.

Sophomore quarterback Jalen Tennison led the Matadors offensively.  He passed for 154 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 101 yards with one touchdown.

Estacado scored within the first minute of the game as Brian Brown returned a fumble for a touchdown (pictured). The PAT kick went wide and Estacado had a 6-0 lead.  Hereford tied the game at 6 in the middle of the first quarter, but that was the last time Hereford was even with Estacado.  The Matadors put another touchdown on the board with three minutes left in the first quarter and they never looked back.
