Did You Know There Was a Muppet Named Lubbock Lou?
Like every parent, or actually like everybody, The Muppets have played a part in our lives to some extent. This is why I'm a bit bewildered on why I had never heard of Lubbock Lou.
The second and most enduring jug band on The Muppets was "Lubbock Lou and the Jughuggers."
Lubbock Lou played the jaws harp and occasionally sang with the band. He appeared on nine episodes of the TV series and is credited as being in four of the movies. He even backed Johnny Cash and Miss Piggy in their duet of "Orange Blossom Special/Jackson."
To make things a bit confusing, Lubbock Lou also had a female in the band and her name was Lou (I guess that's a Muppets thing). She played the part of a hippie country girl, which was a thing back in the day.
On the video on top, Lubbock Lou actually handles some lead vocals, but on the video below you can get a better look at Lou.
