She was born on August 14th, 1964, right here in Lubbock, and was raised by a car dealer and a real estate agent. She went on to study acting at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.
Conaway's television debut was in the show Children of the Bride in 1990 where she played the role of Lydia. She went on to play the receptionist at Halberstrom Clinic in 1991's Doc Hollywood, before playing the Ice Princess in Batman Returns in 1992, one of her most recognizable roles.

Conaway ended her acting career in 2002 and went on to become an acclaimed fashion designer. She specializes in scarves, silk dresses and sweaters. She most recently added a men's collection to her clothing line and she currently resides in Santa Monica, California.
