A week after University Medical Center implemented a vaccine mandate for workers, the Covenant Health System is joining them.

On Wednesday, November 17th, Covenant Health announced that all employees are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by January 4th, 2022.

Employees at Covenant Health must have received their first dose of either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine by December 6th, and have their second dose done by January 4th. If employees choose the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, it needs to be done by December 6th.

If an employee has a religious or medical reason to not get a vaccine, an exemption request must be submitted by January 4th.

Staff affected include; employees, students, licensed practitioners, volunteers, and contract/agency staff.

Covenant Health encompasses; Covenant Medical Center, Covenant Children's, Covenant Specialty Hospital, Covenant Health Plainview, Covenant Health Levelland, Covenant Health Hobbs Hospital, Grace Surgical Hospital, Hospice of Lubbock, Covenant Home Infusion, Covenant High Plains Surgery Center, Trustpoint Rehabilitation Hospice of Lubbock, and Covenant Diagnostic Imaging.
