This 25-year-old media personality and singer was born in Crested Butte, Colorado, where her parents owned a restaurant that was open for nearly 21 years before it was closed.

After graduating from high school, she moved to California where she enrolled at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco.

She later transferred to the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles with a cast member from MTV’s reality series Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County, before receiving her own spin-off series in 2006. She eventually quit school at the Fashion Institute because she did not find the school challenging, according to her.

In 2007, she began working on her debut record with producer David Foster as well as songwriter Cathy Dennis.
