Cafe Alvarez, Lubbock’s Only Cuban Cafe, Set to Open Soon
If you're a fan of Lubbock's food truck scene, you've probably either heard of or eaten at the Llano Cubano food truck. It's been one of the favorites around Lubbock because they have good food and it's different. No one else is doing Cuban food. Sure, others have attempted a Cuban sandwich, but not everyone has been successful at it. Llano Cubano has been a hit.
Because of their popularity and success, the owner of Llano Cubano has decided to open a new storefront location called, Cafe Alvarez which will specialize of course in Craft Cuban Cuisine.
Cafe Alvarez will officially open on Sunday, April 10th at 2614 130th Street just north of University in the A Plus Storage Shops. And don't worry, it sounds like the food truck will still be around but will now be called Llano Cubano by Cafe Alvarez.
The Grand Opening of Cafe Alvarez on Sunday, April 10th will be from 1 to 7 p.m. and they will have a classic car show happening during the event.
If you're getting hungry or just a little interested in having some Cuban food before the grand opening, Cafe Alvarez will be hosting a soft opening all this week. From 11 a.m to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, and then again from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday, those who want to try Cuban sandwiches and pastries will be able to. It's a limited menu but it's a soft opening and they are trying to get everything ready for the Grand Opening on April 10th.

Best of luck to Cafe Alvarez and Llano Cubano!
