Person Opens Fire at Buffalo Wild Wings in South Lubbock, 1 Injured
Arrests in Buffalo Wild Wings shooting
What began as a verbal altercation at a Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant in Lubbock led to a person discharging their firearm in the parking lot.
UPDATE: 10:25 p.m., January 24th, 2019:
Hours after the arrests of 21-year-old Billy Oscar Pena and 21-year-old Angel Marie Flores, the list of charges filed against the pair have been released.
Flores was charged with eight counts of Aggravated Assault causing bodily injury with a deadly weapon. She was also wanted on a warrant of a charge of theft between $100-$750.
Diaz was also charged with eight counts of Aggravated Assault causing bodily injury with a deadly weapon. Diaz was also charged with a misdemeanor count of Violation by Pedestrian.
Bond has not yet been set for either Flores or Diaz.
Original story: The incident occurred around 1:30 p.m. Thursday afternoon (January 24th) at the Buffalo Wild Wings located at 8213 University Avenue. According to the Lubbock Police Department, a man and a woman entered the restaurant and "began a verbal altercation with employees over a domestic disturbance" that wasn't related to the business.
The man and woman, identified by police as 21-year-old Billy Oscar Pena and 21-year-old Angel Marie Flores, took the argument outside of the restaurant with those employees. Police say that at this point, one of the suspects went to their vehicle, retrieved a handgun and fired.
According to police, one person was injured by shattered glass, but no one was shot. Photos posted online show one of the restaurant's front doors completely shattered.
Both Pena and Flores left the scene of the crime, but were later apprehended on Englewood Avenue. They were arrested for Aggravated Assault and brought to the Lubbock County Detention Center.
