A federal judge in Amarillo has put off Bart Reagor's sentencing date until March 10th.

The former co-owner of the Reagor-Dykes Auto Group was found guilty of making a false statement to a bank back on October 15th of 2021. The original sentencing date was set for February 24th.

This comes just days after it was reported that federal officials were pushing for Reagor to serve even more time.

The maximum penalty for making a false statement to a bank is 30 years, but on Monday, December 20th, the US Probation Office filed its draft presentence report that "encompasses, as ‘relevant conduct,’ the activities of Mr. Reagor’s business associates, for which he was never indicted."

Reagor's attorney, Dan Cogdell, said that "By including the floorplan fraud/check-kiting of these 15 other people, the report magnifies Mr. Reagor’s criminal exposure to a range of 324 to 405 months’ imprisonment." This would put the range between 27 and almost 34 years in prison.

Cogdell is alleging that the USPO is seeking to hold Reagor responsible for the crimes of the other 15 former RDAG employees.

KAMC News reports that Cogdell is also asking for more time to raise an objection before the sentencing date, pushing his deadline from January 3rd to January 10th.
