August Pfluger Appears to Win Republican Primary for Texas CD 11 Without Runoff
An additional update to the Texas Secretary of State website, after 1am Wednesday morning (March 4), showed August Pfluger (pictured left, with Vice President Mike Pence) appearing to win the Republican Primary for Texas Congressional District 11 without a runoff. The last update had Pfluger surging above the 50% mark after briefly dropping to about 49% after Midnight.
If Pfluger stays above 50% he will face Democrat Jon Mark Hogg in the general election for Congressional District 11. The current representative for CD 11, Congressman Mike Conaway (R- Midland), elected to not run for re-election.
Pfluger is a former Air Force fighter pilot who was named a national security advisor to President Donald Trump in 2019. President Trump endorsed Pfluger in the primary election.
Texas CD 11 includes the cities of Midland, Odessa, Andrews, San Angelo and Brownwood; plus counties to the east of Abilene and southeast of San Angelo.
